Recently Basney Honda undertook the massive project of building a completely new, state-of-the-art sales and service facility. As part of this project, Vermillion Systems was chosen to provide a comprehensive electronics package to complete the facility. Vermillion Systems provided digital video surveillance, digital signage in the showroom, along with a complete phone and data network. Fire detection and security components were also installed to ensure the facility remains protected as it operates safely and efficiently. All facets of the project were designed specifically to meet the needs of the Basney Honda family. Established in 1916, the South Bend Country Club has a long-standing tradition of world class recreation and gracious hospitality. Located on rolling hills adjacent to a chain of lakes, this private club features one of the most aesthetic golf courses in Indiana. Vermillion Systems was recently contracted by the South Bend Country Club to improve their member experience through the use of audio notification on their driveway. Additionally Vermillion Systems provided inconspicuous surveillance cameras in key areas to improve member service and increase site security. Avigilon to release new iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch App
Avigilon, the performance and value leader in high definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance systems, announced the introduction of Avigilon Control Center Mobile (ACC Mobile), a new application that enables users to connect to the Avigilon Control Center Network Video Management Software (NVMS) platform over any IP wireless network with Apple devices including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Available in June 2011, ACC Mobile enables operators to remotely view live and recorded surveillance video to improve response times to incidents from any location.
“With increasingly demanding security requirements, security personnel are regularly called to the field to respond to incidents and require remote access to their systems outside of regular business hours to review or verify incidents,” said Rick Ramsay, product manager at Avigilon. “By providing remote access to HD surveillance video, ACC Mobile gives security professionals the tools they need to efficiently secure the entire site, expediting response times and ensuring investigative success.”
Extending the award-winning High Definition Stream Management (HDSM) technology of Avigilon Control Center, ACC Mobile is designed to efficiently support HD and megapixel images and detail up to 16 MP. Leveraging the Avigilon Control Center gateway web service, ACC Mobile can be easily connected to an unlimited number of servers and cameras, expanding access to video surveillance data for greater coverage and remote monitoring.

Vermillion Systems Family Continues to Grow
Vermillion Systems, Inc. recently announced that we have entered into an agreement to acquire the customer base of Signature Alert, previously based in Northern Indiana. Signature Alert was a regional provider of monitored intrusion alarm services. This acquisition will enable Vermillion Systems to provide their high level of service to area Signature Alert customers, while increasing the products and services that can be provided to these valued clients.
“We are delighted to welcome Signature Alert customers to the Vermillion Systems family. This acquisition brings a very strong commercial and residential client base that will certainly benefit from the complementary services that we provide,” said David Vermillion, president of Vermillion Systems.
Beginning in early 2000, the Signature Alert franchise was started in the greater LaPorte area by Kevin Schascheck. Kevin’s goal was to offer a valuable service to families that needed the protection that a monitored security system can provide. Given the geographical proximity and strong customer service, the merging of Signature clients into the Vermillion Systems family was a natural fit.
With a manufacturing facility located in Mishawaka, IN, WellPet is the local producer of healthy and natural pet products. They believe in promoting nutrition and healthy, active lifestyles. In the 1980's they pioneered holistic pet nutrition by adding nutritional supplements and utilizing ingredients free of antibiotics and hormones.
Recently as part of a company initiative they have taken additional steps toward protecting raw ingredients, finished products, and their work force by limiting access to the facility by unauthorized parties and monitoring key area with digital video surveillance. As part of a bid offering, Vermillion Systems was able to present a cost effective program which implemented a security package which met the needs and budget of the WellPet executive team.
Continuing to work with the Instant Auto Finance group has been a great experience for Vermillion Systems. Having begun by protecting their new Goshen facility, Vermillion Systems was uniquely positioned to serve Instant Auto's newest location on North Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis. Since this newest and ninth location is a true Super Store with a complete auto repair facility in-house, it required extensive planning in order to meet the expectations of the owner and the schedule of the builder. On-time and on-budget, Vermillion Systems delivered a first-class security package at this dealership, complete with a full spectrum of theft prevention, system monitoring, and full reporting capabilities.
Vermillion Systems is proud to be a part of our area's newest firearm dealer. Designed and built to follow an Old West theme, this new business is state of the art even though the appearance is from times past. Given the nature of the business and since it will operate adjacent to the heavily traveled US 30 near Plymouth, a complete security package was in order. After meeting with the proprietors and understanding their specific needs, Vermillion Systems acted quickly to propose and install a complete security solution that monitors the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is an exciting venture that is sure to meet the needs of firearm enthusiasts.
Gary Public Transportation Corporation - Bus Maintenance Facility
Providing an efficient transit system designed to meet the employment, social, and medical needs of the citizens of Gary, IN is the key focus of Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC). In order to be most effective, their buses and equipment need to be in top working order day in and day out. In order to keep their buses moving continually, GPTC operates a large transportation maintenance facility.
Through a public bid process, Vermillion Systems was recently awarded the contract to add an electronic access control system to this bus maintenance facility including the slide gates and various interior doors. With the use of long range proximity readers and powerful credentials located in municipal buses, Vermillion Systems was able to automate the entrance and exit of the buses to the facility allowing the bus traffic to flow smoothly and maintain the standard of efficiency that is so critical to the users of this service. By automating the process, labor costs were reduced and driver activity is more carefully monitored creating a very efficient operation. Vermillion Systems enjoyed learning about the unique challenges of GPTC during the course of this project.

Lagrange County Library – New Topeka Branch
Vermillion Systems has recently completed a new Panasonic security installation at the New Topeka Branch Library in Topeka, IN. Part of the Lagrange County Library system, the new Topeka branch features 6,000 square feet of efficient, functional, and adaptable library and community space. Vermillion Systems was awarded the security contract in November 2008 and began working immediately. The library is a beautiful facility and we are proud to have been a part of it.
Ivy Tech North Central – New Expanded Orthopedic And Manufacturing Training Center
Vermillion Systems was also awarded the bid in early 2009 for the installation of a fully integrated security package at the new Ivy Tech North-Central in Warsaw, IN. Working with the General Contractor, VanVactor Construction, Vermillion met the very tight schedule and kept the project on track. While the details of the systems provided for the new OMTC are confidential, we can say that they provide comprehensive facility protection. This is the most recent project in which Vermillion has supported Ivy Tech and we always enjoy the privilege of working with Indiana’s largest college when an opportunity presents itself.
